In Escape from Tarkov, the situation in the Norvinsk region is going from bad to worse every day. The constant fighting in the city of Tarkov has caused mass panic, and most people have fled. You play as a mercenary who’s managed to survive the chaos so far. You’ll have to choose a side: USEC or BEAR. The Terra Group shadily backs USEC, while the Russian government allegedly supports BEAR. Your goal is to escape the city but it won’t be easy. UN and Russian military forces have sealed off Tarkov. Supplies are scarce, and communication is down. So you’ll have to make your own decisions on how to survive and get out of the mess.
The Special Economic Zone in the fictional Norvinsk region, which was intended to serve as a bridge between Russia and Europe, is where the game takes place. A political scandal involving one of these corporations, the Terra Group, escalated into an armed conflict that drew in UN peacekeepers, Russian Internal Troops, and two private military companies. Now, you stucked in the middle of a brutal, lawless fight for survival, with the region completely isolated.
The two main forces in the region are the private military companies USEC and BEAR. On the other side, BEAR is supposedly created by the Russian government to expose the illegal activities of Terra Group. Whereas you navigate this dangerous world, you’ll have to deal with both of these factions, as well as the ruthless Scavs, as you fight to escape Tarkov.
