ICARUS: First Cohort is a PvE survival game where you and your friends (up to 7) dive into a brutal alien wilderness. Survive the harsh environment of Icarus, humanity’s biggest screw-up. Explore, harvest, craft, and hunt as you try to strike it rich.
However from your orbital station, you drop down to the planet’s surface for time-limited missions. So learn to survive the alien landscape, complete faction quests and search for rare exotic materials. Make it back to orbit, and you’ll return a seasoned pro, trading your exotics for high-tech gear and taking on tougher missions. But if you stay behind, you will lost forever.
This game was meant to consider a second Earth. But when terraforming failed, the air turned toxic, killing humanity’s hopes for a new home. Whereas Icarus became a joke, a symbol of epic failure. Further when xenobiologists found that exotic matter caused the collapse, it sparked a new gold rush. While these valuable “exotics” reignited interest, fueled political drama on Earth and drew prospectors to Icarus in droves.
